Connie Anne Levesque Nisonger

Connie Anne Levesque Nisonger, moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1978 after traveling the country as a military wife, she met her husband Gene when he was stationed at Loring AFB in Northern Maine, Connie’s home. Connie started sewing as a teenager and focusing on garment sewing for her two daughters for many years. It was not until the early 1990s that Connie started quilting.

Through the years Connie has donated many quilts to charity for silent and live auctions. Those organizations who have benefitted from Connie’s donations are We care Arts, East Dayton Optimist, Carroll High School, St. Christopher’s Parish, The American Heart Association, Artemis, and Hobbies For Hospice to name a few.

The most beloved memories of quilting for Connie came in 2001 when she taught her 70 year old Mother to quilt. Connie’s Mother, Dawn was a long time survivor of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Quilting became therapy for Dawn. When Connie’s mother passed away in 2010, Connie received many cards and condolences from people stating that her mother had made them a quilt. Quilting is and was a way for Connie and her Mom to give back to the community.

The quilts displayed at the Fifth Third Center are an example of the bright fabrics and modern patterns that Connie enjoys! All of the quilts in the show are also for sale. Connie Anne’s Quilts provides customized quilts and quilting lessons.
